Leadership Field Notes — A Five-Minute Reflection

A free reflection resource from Darius Blackman Publishing for readers who lead teams, manage responsibilities, or work around complex organizations. This is a new companion worksheet, not an excerpt from a book or official military guidance.

Before your next team conversation

  1. Name the responsibility. What outcome are you responsible for, and who depends on it?
  2. Separate facts from assumptions. What have you verified? What still needs a question?
  3. Listen for the missing perspective. Who does the work, and what have they told you about the obstacle?
  4. Choose the next action. Identify one practical step, its owner, and a realistic deadline.
  5. Close the loop. When will you check the result and tell the team what changed?

Write it down
